A few words about our artist...

Margaret Larmuth, originally from South Africa and now living in Switzerland, has dedicated her life to the arts, working across numerous creative fields. Like every artist, her work has evolved through various phases and transformations. However, nothing has influenced her artistic journey more profoundly than the 2020 lockdown and its aftermath.

As Covid-19 spread fear and illness across the globe, a vibrant spring filled the forests around Basel with birdsong and life. Spending time in nature during the lockdowns and listening to the sounds of the forest reignited her passion for drawing and painting.

Her work now centers on the deep interconnectedness between humans and nature, and the powerful presence of the invisible spaces that surround us.
