Maria Meier-Duran, born in 1947 in Spain, has been living in Switzerland since 1962 with her family in the quiet municipality of Maur, Zurich.
She attended workshops and training with renowned watercolour artists such as Waldvogel, Barbara Hug, and Susanne Schönenberger. Her artistic education includes studies at the Neuen Kunstschule Zürich, participation in various painting seminars, and an intense self-taught journey to develop her own unique style.
Since 1996, Maria Meier-Duran has led various painting groups and seminars in Tuscany, Provence, Greece, and Spain.
Her paintings are luminous and transparent, never overly bold, yet always surrounded by a mystical, fairytale-like aura, offering viewers the fascinating possibility of subjective interpretation.
